Cross

Whatever your cross,

whatever your pain,

there will always be sunshine,

after the rain ….

Perhaps you may stumble,

perhaps even fall,

But God’s always ready,

To answer your call …

He knows every heartache,

sees every tear,

A word from His lips,

can calm every fear …

Your sorrows may linger,

throughout the night,

But suddenly vanish,

in dawn’s early light …

The Savior is waiting,

somewhere above,

To give you His grace,

and send you His love ..

Whatever your cross,

whatever your pain,

“God always sends rainbows ….

after the rain … “

To get out of difficulty, one must usually go through it! God never gives you more than you can bear – so bear it willingly and you will rejoice in your rewards!

Everyday Life

What’s up with the Waskoskys

When Mike and I found out I was pregnant we thought we would not be able to go to Mexico City with BCOM for my internship. The joy of having a baby was more than enough to replace our disappointment, and it caused us to place all our trust in the Lord as we were unsure of what we would do in the future. We found ourselves in a place of surrender, and we were content. After sometime of praying and asking God what he would have us do, Paul Hartford, the internship director here at Bethany, told Mike during a meeting that he would allow us to go on the internship if that is what we thought God would have us do. After sometime praying and discussing what it would mean for us to go, Mike and I believe that the Lord is leading us to spend 16 months in Mexico City on a team for my internship, so that I might complete my B.A here at Bethany. We are so grateful to God because He is giving us the desires of our hearts. He brought us to a place of complete surrender, we grew closer to Him and now we get to take an amazing journey with Him! We will be leaving for Mexico in May of 2008. While in Mexico I will be taking classes taught by local pastors and teachers and a few BCOM teachers. I will also be getting involved in many ministry opportunities such as working with street children and teaching English as a second language. Mike will be able to participate in the internship 100% as will the baby! Mike and baby will have freedom to leave class or ministry when needed and they are willing to be flexible with me as well! We can’t wait!

Mike has been studying hard as usual. He just finished his class called “Cross Cultural Communication.” He enjoyed learning about the best ways to reach people in other cultures through study of their worldviews, effective communication, and good conflict resolution. Mike recently shared a video with the BCOM students on his internship. It is a really incredible video. He did a great job and puts a lot of effort into it!

I have been working with the family I have been working with since March. They have three children. I work specifically with their youngest daughter who has spin bifida. They are a great family and the job has taught me so much about children. I love it!

Prayer Requests

· Please pray for our baby that he or she would continue to develop into a healthy little one.

· Pray for Mike and I as we prepare to become parents.

· Please pray about becoming prayer or financial partners with me and Mike and we get ready to head to Mexico.

· Pray for Mike that he would finish strong in his school work.

· Pray that we would continue to grow closer to the Lord and share His love with others that they might come to know Him.

How Beautiful are the Feet of those who Bring Good News! Romans 10:15

Hanging out at the beach.

“We only have a fifty percent chance of hearing the heartbeat because you are only 9 or ten weeks along,” the doctor said. After the doctor said that he placed cold jelly on my growing belly. Then he began moving the cold wand around. Mike and I were both praying silently that we would hear the tiny heart beat. At first all we heard was a slow, strong heart beat. The doctor moved slowly across my belly and when he reached the left side suddenly we heard a rapid, strong tapping. It was our baby! “There it is. Sounds good,” said the doctor. Mike and I both wore large smiles and held hands tightly in excitement. Hearing the baby’s heartbeat magnified the miracle taking place in my body. It was incredible.

I am in my ninth or tenth week of pregnancy. The baby is about an inch or so long, but has developed in amazing ways. His or her lungs, liver, kidneys, intestines, and brain have all developed. His or her fingers are completely separated and his or her arms can bend at the elbows. He or she is constantly moving and taking in amniotic fluids. He or she is entering the stage of growing rapidly and maturing now that so much development has occurred. This means my belly will be growing, which I am excited for! My excitement for my belly to grow does not even compare to the excitement me and Mike have to meet our little one. Nine months seems like no time at all, but also like way too long. However, we know it is a great time for the Lord to prepare us for the challenges that lie ahead.

How Beautiful are the Feet of those who Bring Good News! Romans 10:15

Jesus replied: ” ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” Matthew 22:37-40

Sextuplets in Minnesota

Tuesday, June 12th, 2007

I just wanted to make sure everyone out there knew about this.
Please pray for a miracle!!!

This is what Jamie (Grandmother of the children) sent out:

Hello Everyone:
Well, the big day for the babies has come at 22 weeks 6 days.
Brianna’s circlauge (sp) slipped and she dilated to 7cm very quickly.
The drs. said the time has come, we have to take the babies. They had
the whole team , 20 to be exact, of drs. at the hospital within about
an hour.
The prognosis was very alarming, the dr’s. thought that 1 or maybe
2 babies would survive the birth due to the underdevelopment of these
precious little ones. He stated that in most cases with high order
multiples that mom is in ICU for at least 1 day, and in many cases 2.
So we prayed and turned all this over to the Lord. Ryan and Brianna
were obviously overwhelmed with all that was happening but they held on
to their faith and trust in the Lord.
We asked God to let the babies survive, to carry Brianna safely
through as the dr. had discussed the MANY complications that can happen
to mom, and that God would decide the outcome for these babies clearly
so that Ryan and Brianna would not have to make life and death choices
regarding their little ones as the dr. said they needed to decide if
they wanted to revive the babies if there were complications.
The frist baby was born at 11:23pm and the sixth was born at 11:25
pm. Yes, all 6 were pulled with 2 minutes! God has miraculously
intervened. All six of the babies are alive. They weigh between 10
ounces to 1.2 pounds. The dr. said that Cadance Alana, the 10 ounce
baby girl was the smallest baby he has delivered that has survived.
They are very tiny, a little bigger than an average adult hand, but
seem to be fighters. Brianna did NOT need to be placed in ICU and was
able to be wheeled to Children’s in order to see the babies.
The babies are not out of the woods by any means but God has shown
His power and His presence. Everything we cried out to the Lord for
was answered. We continue to pray for the lives of these babies and
Brianna’s recovery. The needs for prayer right now are:
1. Brianna to continue to recover quickly
2. Several of the babies fingers and toes are blue due to oxygen
issues. They may need to have them removed at some point.
3. There are SO MANY medical issues these babies are dealing with and
it will only be by miracle if they thrive and survive.
4. The dr. said there is an 80% chance for handicap with these babies.
Possibilities include: deafness, blindness, autism, along with many of
issues.
Please continue to lift them up. God has been so present through all
the pregnancy, and the birth last night. We NEED each one of you to
pray and to pass on this prayer request to others .
The babies names are:
baby girl- Lucia Rae (Rae after Brianna’s mom’s middle name) 11 ounces
baby boy- Bennet Ryan (after dad! Ryan)1.2 pound
baby boy- Tryg Brenton (Brenton after Brianna’s dad’s first name) 1.2
pound
baby boy- Lincoln Sean (Sean after Ryan’s dad’s first name) 1.2 pound
baby boy- Sylas Christopher (Christopher after Ryan’s brother’s first
name) 1.2 pound
baby girl- Cadence Alana (Alana after Ryan’s mom’s middle name) 10
ounces
Thank you all for your love and prayers!

May Update

Mike and Lindy Waskosky
Bloomington, MN
May 28, 2007

Hola a nuetros amigos y famila,
(Hello to our friends and family)

I am writing to you for the first time as a married man. I arrived back to the states on April 27th with two weeks to go before the wedding. That time before the wedding was fast paced and went by much quicker than I expected.

Finally, I found myself in May 12th, a day that I had been looking forward to for nine months. The only mishap that occurred the whole day happened right away. When I tried on my suit, I found that the pants were four inches too short and my shirtsleeves were too long for my jacket. Lindy’s mom, Susan, came to the rescue and ran over to the rental shop and got me new pants, while my friend Rob (http://cafeagape.org/) pinned the shirtsleeves. Wedding Picture

After that little issue, the day went smoothly. We had a blast having our pictures taken by our amazing photographer Noemi Hedrick. (http://noemiphotography.com/) We enjoyed spending the day with our family and friends as we waited in anticipation for five o’clock. When five o’clock finally came, the candles were lit, the lights dimmed, the seats in the beautiful chapel filled, and the music began. Before we knew it Dan Sollie, our pastor, was pronouncing us man and wife.

We raced off to the reception in our stretch escalade with our wedding party of 12 and David, who enjoyed the ride more than anyone. (He especially enjoyed the sparkling cider, which he likes to call “coffee”.) The night was filled with enjoyment as we cut the cake, had our first dance, talked with loved ones, and kissed on command. The night flew by, and before we knew it we were saying our goodbyes.

The next day we were off to Cancun Mexico, where the sand was white, the water clear and the sun hot. We stayed in a wonderful hotel, where we had the entire pool to ourselves, but only a five-minute drive to the beach. It was a week of relaxation, sun tanning, and eating delicious seafood by the ocean.

Now, we are back to real life and looking forward to what God has for us in the future. I am about to start my last semester of classes at BCOM, which I am really looking forward too.  Lindy is working at a job that she really loves. Both of us are enjoying married life and learning a lot. We would greatly appreciate your continued thoughts, prayers, and support as we continue on in what God has called us to do.

Prayer Requests:

•    Pray for me as I study that I might work to the best of my ability and glorify God in all I do.
•    Pray that Lindy is able to find another part-time job.
•    Pray about an opportunity Lindy and I have been presented with. We have the privilege of going to Mexico with BCOM in May of 2008 for 16 months, so that Lindy can finish her degree at BCOM. This would give Lindy the chance to learn Spanish, and I would have the opportunity to work with many ministries while there. We think this is what God has called us to, so we would appreciate your continued prayers and support.

Thank you so much for standing by me during my time in Bosnia. I greatly appreciate it.

We will try and get our wedding photos on the website as soon as possible.

God’s Richest Blessings,
Mike and Lindy Waskosky
