Sextuplets in Minnesota

Tuesday, June 12th, 2007

I just wanted to make sure everyone out there knew about this.
Please pray for a miracle!!!

This is what Jamie (Grandmother of the children) sent out:

Hello Everyone:
Well, the big day for the babies has come at 22 weeks 6 days.
Brianna’s circlauge (sp) slipped and she dilated to 7cm very quickly.
The drs. said the time has come, we have to take the babies. They had
the whole team , 20 to be exact, of drs. at the hospital within about
an hour.
The prognosis was very alarming, the dr’s. thought that 1 or maybe
2 babies would survive the birth due to the underdevelopment of these
precious little ones. He stated that in most cases with high order
multiples that mom is in ICU for at least 1 day, and in many cases 2.
So we prayed and turned all this over to the Lord. Ryan and Brianna
were obviously overwhelmed with all that was happening but they held on
to their faith and trust in the Lord.
We asked God to let the babies survive, to carry Brianna safely
through as the dr. had discussed the MANY complications that can happen
to mom, and that God would decide the outcome for these babies clearly
so that Ryan and Brianna would not have to make life and death choices
regarding their little ones as the dr. said they needed to decide if
they wanted to revive the babies if there were complications.
The frist baby was born at 11:23pm and the sixth was born at 11:25
pm. Yes, all 6 were pulled with 2 minutes! God has miraculously
intervened. All six of the babies are alive. They weigh between 10
ounces to 1.2 pounds. The dr. said that Cadance Alana, the 10 ounce
baby girl was the smallest baby he has delivered that has survived.
They are very tiny, a little bigger than an average adult hand, but
seem to be fighters. Brianna did NOT need to be placed in ICU and was
able to be wheeled to Children’s in order to see the babies.
The babies are not out of the woods by any means but God has shown
His power and His presence. Everything we cried out to the Lord for
was answered. We continue to pray for the lives of these babies and
Brianna’s recovery. The needs for prayer right now are:
1. Brianna to continue to recover quickly
2. Several of the babies fingers and toes are blue due to oxygen
issues. They may need to have them removed at some point.
3. There are SO MANY medical issues these babies are dealing with and
it will only be by miracle if they thrive and survive.
4. The dr. said there is an 80% chance for handicap with these babies.
Possibilities include: deafness, blindness, autism, along with many of
issues.
Please continue to lift them up. God has been so present through all
the pregnancy, and the birth last night. We NEED each one of you to
pray and to pass on this prayer request to others .
The babies names are:
baby girl- Lucia Rae (Rae after Brianna’s mom’s middle name) 11 ounces
baby boy- Bennet Ryan (after dad! Ryan)1.2 pound
baby boy- Tryg Brenton (Brenton after Brianna’s dad’s first name) 1.2
pound
baby boy- Lincoln Sean (Sean after Ryan’s dad’s first name) 1.2 pound
baby boy- Sylas Christopher (Christopher after Ryan’s brother’s first
name) 1.2 pound
baby girl- Cadence Alana (Alana after Ryan’s mom’s middle name) 10
ounces
Thank you all for your love and prayers!

Hola a nuetros amigos y famila,
(Hello to our friends and family)

I am writing to you for the first time as a married man. I arrived back to the states on April 27th with two weeks to go before the wedding. That time before the wedding was fast paced and went by much quicker than I expected.

Finally, I found myself in May 12th, a day that I had been looking forward to for nine months. The only mishap that occurred the whole day happened right away. When I tried on my suit, I found that the pants were four inches too short and my shirtsleeves were too long for my jacket. Lindy’s mom, Susan, came to the rescue and ran over to the rental shop and got me new pants, while my friend Rob (http://cafeagape.org/) pinned the shirtsleeves. Wedding Picture

After that little issue, the day went smoothly. We had a blast having our pictures taken by our amazing photographer Noemi Hedrick. (http://noemiphotography.com/) We enjoyed spending the day with our family and friends as we waited in anticipation for five o’clock. When five o’clock finally came, the candles were lit, the lights dimmed, the seats in the beautiful chapel filled, and the music began. Before we knew it Dan Sollie, our pastor, was pronouncing us man and wife.

We raced off to the reception in our stretch escalade with our wedding party of 12 and David, who enjoyed the ride more than anyone. (He especially enjoyed the sparkling cider, which he likes to call “coffee”.) The night was filled with enjoyment as we cut the cake, had our first dance, talked with loved ones, and kissed on command. The night flew by, and before we knew it we were saying our goodbyes.

The next day we were off to Cancun Mexico, where the sand was white, the water clear and the sun hot. We stayed in a wonderful hotel, where we had the entire pool to ourselves, but only a five-minute drive to the beach. It was a week of relaxation, sun tanning, and eating delicious seafood by the ocean.

Now, we are back to real life and looking forward to what God has for us in the future. I am about to start my last semester of classes at BCOM, which I am really looking forward too.  Lindy is working at a job that she really loves. Both of us are enjoying married life and learning a lot. We would greatly appreciate your continued thoughts, prayers, and support as we continue on in what God has called us to do.

Prayer Requests:

•    Pray for me as I study that I might work to the best of my ability and glorify God in all I do.
•    Pray that Lindy is able to find another part-time job.
•    Pray about an opportunity Lindy and I have been presented with. We have the privilege of going to Mexico with BCOM in May of 2008 for 16 months, so that Lindy can finish her degree at BCOM. This would give Lindy the chance to learn Spanish, and I would have the opportunity to work with many ministries while there. We think this is what God has called us to, so we would appreciate your continued prayers and support.

Thank you so much for standing by me during my time in Bosnia. I greatly appreciate it.
