This is Lindy writing for the first time! Mike and I hope you are all doing well and that this update finds you in peace and joy. I cannot believe it, but it has already been six weeks since Mike and I were married. This past month has been filled with some fun and exciting things.  I thought it might be fun to share some photos with you to show you what we have been up to.
Celebrating Mike’s 22nd Birthday!
Mike and I took a 12-mile canoe trip on June 2nd down the Canon River, which is located in southern Minnesota. It was a great time! During the last two miles we paddled as hard as we could because there was thunder rumbling in the distance and dark clouds looming overhead. When we finally got back to the place we rented our canoe from they told us it had been raining extremely hard, but we had stayed dry even though we were just a few miles away!
Kid’s Explosion
This past week Mike participated in Ministry week. He was involved in a community outreach called Kid’s explosion. This was similar to a large Vacation Bible School and then on Saturday there was a celebration with lots of food, prizes and games for the kids. We are praising God because parents and children gave their lives to the Lord during this event!
Student Appreciation
Mike and I also got to attend Student Appreciation here at Bethany. The mentors and teachers worked extremely hard to put together a great night for the students. This year the theme was “Shipwrecked”, so we all came in tattered clothes. The school building was transformed into a tropical island. The teachers and mentors were dressed up as natives. They treated us to a delicious meal, a great scavenger hunt, and delicious ice cream. It was a blast! Only at Bethany would the mentors, staff and faculty go to such lengths to bless the students!

And finally, the best news for last! I am privileged to be writing this month because Mike and I have some very exciting news to share with you all. There has been a little baby growing inside of me for the past five weeks (going on six)! Mike and are going on our seventh week of marriage. Both Mike and I are extremely excited and feel very blessed by the Lord. Both of us love kids and have a passion for family. I think we will both have a hard time waiting nine months to meet our baby! The doctor gave us a February 14th due date! The doctor we saw that day was a Christian and stated that our babies due date was “the love of the Lord shining through”.

Future Plans
Mike and I will not be able to go to Mexico with Bethany because our baby would only be four months old and there is a Bethany policy that babies must be one year old before going on internship. We are praying about going on my internship with Bethany in January 2009 because by then the baby will be 11 months old. Going in ’09 would give us a chance to live in our own apartment for a while, save some money, get to know our baby, build our support team, and there is a possibility that one of the internship sites will be in South America, which is where we feel called to.
Prayer Requests

•    Please pray for our baby! Pray for health, growth, and good development. Also pray for me as I have been very tired, which makes work difficult.
•    Please pray for Mike that he would be able to find a good job when he is done with school. If anyone knows of any job openings in MN please let us know! It can be any kind of job!
•    Please pray that we would find a place to live that is nice and affordable. If anyone knows of any good places for us to live for a little over a year let us know!
•    Pray for Mike that he continues to study hard! (He has done a great job and just received an A+ on the last test he took)
