Hello Everyone,

If you would like to see the newsletter with pictures please download this word file: june-newsletter.doc

This is Lindy writing for the first time! Mike and I hope you are all doing well and that this update finds you in peace and joy. I cannot believe it, but it has already been six weeks since Mike and I were married. This past month has been filled with some fun and exciting things.  I thought it might be fun to share some photos with you to show you what we have been up to.
Celebrating Mike’s 22nd Birthday!
Mike and I took a 12-mile canoe trip on June 2nd down the Canon River, which is located in southern Minnesota. It was a great time! During the last two miles we paddled as hard as we could because there was thunder rumbling in the distance and dark clouds looming overhead. When we finally got back to the place we rented our canoe from they told us it had been raining extremely hard, but we had stayed dry even though we were just a few miles away!
Kid’s Explosion
This past week Mike participated in Ministry week. He was involved in a community outreach called Kid’s explosion. This was similar to a large Vacation Bible School and then on Saturday there was a celebration with lots of food, prizes and games for the kids. We are praising God because parents and children gave their lives to the Lord during this event!
Student Appreciation
Mike and I also got to attend Student Appreciation here at Bethany. The mentors and teachers worked extremely hard to put together a great night for the students. This year the theme was “Shipwrecked”, so we all came in tattered clothes. The school building was transformed into a tropical island. The teachers and mentors were dressed up as natives. They treated us to a delicious meal, a great scavenger hunt, and delicious ice cream. It was a blast! Only at Bethany would the mentors, staff and faculty go to such lengths to bless the students!
Expecting!
And finally, the best news for last! I am privileged to be writing this month because Mike and I have some very exciting news to share with you all. There has been a little baby growing inside of me for the past five weeks (going on six)! Mike and are going on our seventh week of marriage. Both Mike and I are extremely excited and feel very blessed by the Lord. Both of us love kids and have a passion for family. I think we will both have a hard time waiting nine months to meet our baby! The doctor gave us a February 14th due date! The doctor we saw that day was a Christian and stated that our babies due date was “the love of the Lord shining through”.

Future Plans
Mike and I will not be able to go to Mexico with Bethany because our baby would only be four months old and there is a Bethany policy that babies must be one year old before going on internship. We are praying about going on my internship with Bethany in January 2009 because by then the baby will be 11 months old. Going in ’09 would give us a chance to live in our own apartment for a while, save some money, get to know our baby, build our support team, and there is a possibility that one of the internship sites will be in South America, which is where we feel called to.
Prayer Requests

•    Please pray for our baby! Pray for health, growth, and good development. Also pray for me as I have been very tired, which makes work difficult.
•    Please pray for Mike that he would be able to find a good job when he is done with school. If anyone knows of any job openings in MN please let us know! It can be any kind of job!
•    Please pray that we would find a place to live that is nice and affordable. If anyone knows of any good places for us to live for a little over a year let us know!
•    Pray for Mike that he continues to study hard! (He has done a great job and just received an A+ on the last test he took)

Thank you so much for your prayers! We appreciate them so much. We hope and pray that you are blessed and see God in amazing ways!

Love,
Lindy and Mike Waskosky

Sextuplets in Minnesota

Tuesday, June 12th, 2007

I just wanted to make sure everyone out there knew about this.
Please pray for a miracle!!!

This is what Jamie (Grandmother of the children) sent out:

Hello Everyone:
Well, the big day for the babies has come at 22 weeks 6 days.
Brianna’s circlauge (sp) slipped and she dilated to 7cm very quickly.
The drs. said the time has come, we have to take the babies. They had
the whole team , 20 to be exact, of drs. at the hospital within about
an hour.
The prognosis was very alarming, the dr’s. thought that 1 or maybe
2 babies would survive the birth due to the underdevelopment of these
precious little ones. He stated that in most cases with high order
multiples that mom is in ICU for at least 1 day, and in many cases 2.
So we prayed and turned all this over to the Lord. Ryan and Brianna
were obviously overwhelmed with all that was happening but they held on
to their faith and trust in the Lord.
We asked God to let the babies survive, to carry Brianna safely
through as the dr. had discussed the MANY complications that can happen
to mom, and that God would decide the outcome for these babies clearly
so that Ryan and Brianna would not have to make life and death choices
regarding their little ones as the dr. said they needed to decide if
they wanted to revive the babies if there were complications.
The frist baby was born at 11:23pm and the sixth was born at 11:25
pm. Yes, all 6 were pulled with 2 minutes! God has miraculously
intervened. All six of the babies are alive. They weigh between 10
ounces to 1.2 pounds. The dr. said that Cadance Alana, the 10 ounce
baby girl was the smallest baby he has delivered that has survived.
They are very tiny, a little bigger than an average adult hand, but
seem to be fighters. Brianna did NOT need to be placed in ICU and was
able to be wheeled to Children’s in order to see the babies.
The babies are not out of the woods by any means but God has shown
His power and His presence. Everything we cried out to the Lord for
was answered. We continue to pray for the lives of these babies and
Brianna’s recovery. The needs for prayer right now are:
1. Brianna to continue to recover quickly
2. Several of the babies fingers and toes are blue due to oxygen
issues. They may need to have them removed at some point.
3. There are SO MANY medical issues these babies are dealing with and
it will only be by miracle if they thrive and survive.
4. The dr. said there is an 80% chance for handicap with these babies.
Possibilities include: deafness, blindness, autism, along with many of
issues.
Please continue to lift them up. God has been so present through all
the pregnancy, and the birth last night. We NEED each one of you to
pray and to pass on this prayer request to others .
The babies names are:
baby girl- Lucia Rae (Rae after Brianna’s mom’s middle name) 11 ounces
baby boy- Bennet Ryan (after dad! Ryan)1.2 pound
baby boy- Tryg Brenton (Brenton after Brianna’s dad’s first name) 1.2
pound
baby boy- Lincoln Sean (Sean after Ryan’s dad’s first name) 1.2 pound
baby boy- Sylas Christopher (Christopher after Ryan’s brother’s first
name) 1.2 pound
baby girl- Cadence Alana (Alana after Ryan’s mom’s middle name) 10
ounces
Thank you all for your love and prayers!

Why Revival Tarries
By
Leonard Ravenhill
I must say is that Why Revival Terries by Leonard Ravenhill is a great book and every person should read it. I read the whole thing and I loved it. It says in the book no man is greater than his prayer life and this is so true. I want to be a man that prays because that is where we get stuff done.  When we pray we are closer to Christ and what He has for us. If we are not praying it is very difficult to draw closer to God, and we will have a lukewarm, boring life. God says if we are lukewarm He will spit us from His mouth. I want to be on fire.
Later on in this book Ravenhill talks about how we need to have passion and vision. He states that both passion and vision are born and maintained in prayer. I want to have greater passion and vision, and the only way I can get those things is through prayer and being close to the Father. Like Jesus, I want to be close to the Father and do His will. Jesus said, “’When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am the one I claim to be and that I do nothing on my own but speak just what the Father has taught me.’”(John 8:28) Jesus had to be focused on prayer in order to make such a bold statement. Jesus did only what the Father told Him to do, and I want to be like that.
I need not only passion and vision, but also passion and vision for true Christian living. Men battle so many things when they are living their life, which is why passion and vision crucial. When men understand their God given passion and vision they have to battle through many difficult situations to keep those things alive. The devil will use many strategies to attack a man who has passion and vision.
Another great point Ravenhill writes about is best illustrated with his analogy.  He says “ Friend, if you were as good at soul-cultivating as you are in developing your business, you would be a menace to the devil; but if you were as poor in business matters you are in soul, you would be begging for bread.”(30) This point really hit me because it made realize how true it is that often we develop ourselves in the world rather than focusing on what would please God. It also really hit me how often we do not trust God with our finances. Often we become so consumed with earning more that it becomes more important to have money than to share the gospel.
I really enjoyed the story about Charlie Peace, the criminal, who was being taken on the death-walk.  Peace was listening to the prison chaplain who was sleepily reading the Consolations of Religion. Peace was shocked at how the preacher was reading about hell, and his reply was: “Sir,” addressing the preacher, “if I believed what you and the church of God say that you believe, even if England were covered with broken glass from coast to coast, I would walk over it, if need be, on hands and knees and think it worthwhile living, just to save one soul from an eternal hell like that!” I couldn’t believe how much he would have been willing to risk to save a soul from hell. We as Christians should have the same mentality. I want that kind of passion.
It is my prayer that God would give me more vision and passion than I already have. Why Revival Terries has challenged me to press into God through prayer. It has challenged me not only to pray, but also to share His glory with others.
